Dr. Chhabra is a personal health informatics researcher at the GVU Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is one of the few physicians worldwide with a graduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction and he uses this unique background to investigate how computing technologies, in particular ubiquitous and pervasive computing platforms, can address the problem of non-adherence to medical advice. His area of expertise is the development and evaluation of patient-facing automated healthcare interventions that convert evidence-based medicine into real-life recommendations. Chhabra’s translational research on in-the-moment nutritional decision support systems that facilitate dietary behavior modification is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, the Georgia Research Alliance, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
